Gaz has experienced his fair share of obstacles in life, coming from a fatherless, broken home of neglect, alcoholism, poverty, bullying, sexually abused, and homeless at 15, living in a skip. He then struggled through his young adult life, bouncing between jobs, escaping a homeless hostel and eventually finding his feet. But then his life is radically transformed when he is introduced to a local church, begins his wrestling training and has a powerful encounter and moment of forgiveness with his abuser, moving him to give his life to Jesus.
Since then he turned his energy to helping others through his experiences, working for Christians Against Poverty, both in their head office in Bradford, and on the front line, running a Debt Centre and Job Club.
During his 7 years there, he often shared his story seeing many people come to faith, featuring in a BBC 2 documentary and in 2018, launched GT Ministries. Gaz had been wrestling at a professional level for a number of years and was inspired to combine wrestling and his faith, using the platform to share his story with those who wouldn't normally enter a church. This was a roaring success, touring the UK and impacting lives in an incredible way.
In 2022 Gaz left CAP to plant Wrestling Church in the heart of Bradford, and the rest as they say is history. Another BBC Documentary, multiple baptisms and a growing sense that God was calling him to more, Gaz looked to expand the ministry and in late 2023, GT Ministries became a national charity and transformed into Kingdom Wrestling. Now you will find Gaz speaking at Men's Breakfasts, in schools, churches, conferences, podcasts and growing the charity, planting new Wrestling Churches, training schools and pioneering new concepts and ideas.
A committed Husband to Beth and Father to Isla and Isabella, he is very much at the forefront of urban mission and still performs as a wrestler.
